Luise Zwirnlein, M.A. serves as a Researcher at the University of Erfurt within the Faculty of Philosophy's Department of Media and Communication Science. Since January 1, 2025, she has been a scientific staff member working on the BMBF-funded project "AlLiS" (Algorithm Literacy and Sourcing Competence in Non-School Educational Settings) under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Leyla Dogruel at the Chair of Communication Science with a focus on Social Communication.
Her research focuses on developing competencies for critically evaluating digital information sources and understanding algorithmic processes that shape online content in educational contexts outside traditional school environments. She investigates how individuals build resilience against misinformation and develop critical thinking skills in digital spaces, with particular attention to non-formal educational settings.
Dr. Zwirnlein's work contributes significantly to contemporary discussions about digital citizenship and media literacy in an increasingly algorithm-driven information ecosystem, addressing critical challenges in how society navigates complex digital information landscapes.
