Luisa Nardini is a Professor of Musicology at the Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin, and an Endowed Fellow to The Walter and Gina Ducloux Fine Arts Faculty Fellowship Endowment. Her research focuses on liturgical chant, medieval music, digital humanities, and global studies. She holds a PhD from Università degli Studi “La Sapienza” di Roma and a post-doctoral license from the University of Toronto. Nardini has authored seminal works on Beneventan manuscripts and co-edits Acta Musicologica. She is also co-chair of the Skills and Resources in Early Musics Study Group of the American Musicological Society.
Her research interests include analyzing how sacred music repertoires reveal cultural exchanges between diverse medieval communities, with a focus on women’s roles in chant production and diffusion. Nardini’s digital humanities projects explore interactive platforms for liturgical prosulas, combining technology with historical analysis.
