Prof. Dr. Luis Moroder (1940-2024) was Director of the Bioorganic Chemistry group at Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, specializing in peptide and protein chemistry.
Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry.
Research Focus: Collagen mimetics, protease inhibitors, oxidative protein folding, insulin analogs, and photoresponsive peptides. Developed novel synthetic methods and structure-function relationships.
Authored 600+ publications and books on peptide science. Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Peptide Science.
No awards listed beyond honorary doctorate.
Trained numerous doctoral students and postdocs. Research funded by collaborative projects.
