Luis Artavia-Mora is a Visiting Professor and PhD Candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam's International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), specializing in Behavioral and Development Economics. His work focuses on applying experimental methodologies to address development challenges, particularly in low- and high-income countries. Current research includes interventions in Burkina Faso targeting HIV patients' adherence to antiretroviral therapy, involving systematic reviews, protocol development, and fieldwork.
He holds expertise in social norms, behavioral change, and contributions to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those addressing health equity and social justice. His research outputs include a doctoral thesis on biases against marginalized groups, a natural field experiment in The Hague, and a protocol for mobile messaging interventions.
Artavia-Mora conducted two-week fieldwork in Burkina Faso (2017) for data surveillance and co-authored a study published in JMIR Research Protocols. His work bridges behavioral science with real-world applications to improve global health outcomes and social policies.
