Prof. Dr. Ludger Körntgen is a full Professor at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz since SS 12, specializing in Medieval History with a focus on early medieval penitential books, royal rule, pictorial representations, and religious practice. He previously served as Professor in Bayreuth (WS 06/07–WS 11/12) and held acting chairs in Munich. His editorial work includes co-editing Orbis Mediaevalis and Sources and Research on Law in the Middle Ages.
