Lucy Wakeford is a Harp Tutor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama's Department of Strings, Harp & Guitar. She currently serves as Principal Harpist with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and is a member of the Britten Sinfonia. Previously, she held the principal harp position with the Philharmonia Orchestra (2001–2011). She is also a member of the renowned Nash Ensemble.
Education: Lucy studied at the Royal College of Music with Marisa Robles, followed by further studies in Paris with Gérard Devos and in London with Skaila Kanga. Her competitive achievements include awards in international harp competitions, alongside recognition through Young Concert Artists Trust representation (1998).
Performance Highlights: As a soloist, Lucy has performed major harp concertos with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and Britten Sinfonia. Her repertoire spans works by Ginastera, Debussy, and Mozart.
