Lucy Taylor is an NIHR Research Fellow and Clinical Trial Manager at the University of Oxford's Department of Psychology. She specializes in clinical trials for children and young people with anxiety disorders, focusing on interventions delivered in naturalistic settings such as schools. Her work aims to improve access to mental health treatments and enhance the measurement/reporting of adverse events in psychological trials, particularly for pediatric populations. She currently leads a large multi-site randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating an online parent-led intervention for childhood anxiety during the pandemic era.
Her research integrates clinical psychology with methodological rigor, emphasizing practical applications of evidence-based interventions. She collaborates with the TOPIC Research Group to bridge academic research and real-world healthcare delivery, advocating for trial designs that reflect real-world conditions.
Key contributions include developing frameworks for adverse event tracking in child psychological trials and advancing methodologies for school-based mental health interventions. Her work has been supported by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), underscoring its relevance to public health priorities.
Lucy has also published widely on animal behavior and ecology, including studies on elephant calf development, avian flight dynamics, and captive animal welfare. This dual focus reflects her expertise in both human clinical research and broader ecological/biological research paradigms.
