Lucy Cordes Engelman is an artist-filmmaker affiliated with the Master Artistic Research program at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). Based between Amsterdam and Los Angeles, she focuses on reconnection with the living earth through sensorial and ritual cinema. Her practice integrates subjugated knowledges and ecological themes, exploring pre/post-patriarchal timelines and cosmic consciousness.
She graduated with honors from KABK’s MA Artistic Research in 2019 and has exhibited work globally. Her first narrative short film, funded by the NL Film Funds, will premiere at the Evolution Mallorca Film Festival 2024. Engelman’s research-driven projects interrogate place-based histories and alternative epistemologies, blending artistic and academic methodologies.
