Lucinda Strahan is a Lecturer in Professional and Creative Writing at RMIT University's School of Media & Communication. She holds a PhD from the University of Wollongong, a Master's in Journalism from UTS, and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies from the University of Melbourne. Her work bridges creative practice and academic research in expanded nonfiction, journalism, and arts editing. She leads the Writing in the Expanded Field project at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and is a Writer in Residence at Linden New Art.
Her research interests include creative nonfiction, auto-theoretical writing, and the intersection of art and text. She has contributed to major publications like The Age, ABC, and Crikey, and has curated public programs exploring contemporary writing practices. Strahan supervises research students in creative writing and journalism, focusing on themes like post-nature writing, spatial nonfiction, and affective journalism.
Her creative outputs span poetry, essays, and collaborative projects addressing crises, material culture, and environmental themes. She actively engages with interdisciplinary art initiatives and digital publishing innovations.
