Dr. Lucile Mae Satur is a faculty member and researcher at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, University of Cologne, and a research affiliate at the Global South Studies Center. She holds a PhD in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Passau (2018). Her research focuses on urbanism, public spaces, and Southeast Asia, with notable work on urban renewal in Cagayan de Oro and the Philippines. She has published a book on public space inclusivity and contributed to studies on ASEAN food security and vaccine diplomacy during the pandemic.
Education: PhD in Southeast Asian Studies (University of Passau, 2018).
Research Interests: Urban development, public space dynamics, Southeast Asian urban contexts, disaster response, and peripheral city growth. Her work blends anthropological approaches with policy analysis to address urban challenges.
