Luciene da Silva

Luciene da Silva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at the Faculty of Sciences, São Paulo State University (UNESP). She teaches in the undergraduate programs in Pedagogy and Physical Education and is a credentialed faculty member in the Professional Master’s programs in Basic Education Teaching and in National Network Physical Education (PROEF). Her academic work spans teaching, research, and institutional leadership.

Her research interests focus on school physical education, the pedagogy of movement, teacher formation, leisure, ludic activities, and the integration of sports and education. She explores how physical education contributes to holistic learning and cultural development across age groups. Her work is grounded in both theoretical and applied perspectives, with emphasis on curriculum practices and educational policy.

She leads the GEPLEJ/UNESP/CNPq (Research Group on Leisure, Education, and Play) and is a member of GELC/UNIMEP/CNPq, contributing to national research in leisure and bodily practices. She also serves on academic governance bodies, including course councils for Pedagogy, Physical Education, and Tourism, and is an institutional evaluator for SINAES/INEP/MEC and the State Council of Education of São Paulo (CEE/SP).

Luciene da Silva has been actively involved in academic management, having served as Head of the Department of Education and coordinator of undergraduate programs in Physical Education. She is also a member of the Bauru Municipal Education Council, demonstrating her commitment to public education policy and evaluation.
