Luciana Marques

Luciana Marques is an Instructor of Linguistics and Composition at Colorado State University, affiliated with the English departments and University Composition Program. Her expertise spans phonetics, phonology, and second language acquisition. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and M.A. degrees from University of São Paulo and University of Colorado.

Her research focuses on experimental approaches to first and second language speech production/perception, particularly Brazilian Portuguese nasal vowels and L2 phonology transfer. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics and academic writing.

Her publications analyze phonetic variation, nasalization processes, and syllabic structures in Romance languages. She has presented at major conferences like LabPhon, Interspeech, and International Congress of Phonetic Sciences.
