Lucia Volonté is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the Department of Philosophy, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Her work focuses on Kant's philosophy, particularly his epistemology and moral philosophy, alongside broader interests in modern philosophy and German idealism. She holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Philosophy from the Università degli Studi di Milano (2016–2018 and 2013–2016). Between 2019–2020, she received a doctoral preparation scholarship at the Graduate School artes, University of Cologne, researching Kant’s spontaneity in cognition. She also completed a research stay at the Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition (CONCEPT) in 2018 and an Erasmus semester in Cologne (2017).
Her current doctoral project, titled *Kant's Notion of Spontaneity between Objective Cognition and Transcendental Freedom*, explores intersections of epistemology and ethics in Kantian thought.
