Lucas Nahuel Lopez

Lucas Nahuel Lopez is a PhD candidate at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN), affiliated with the Faculty of Applied Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology and the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management. His research focuses on ecosystem services and alternative silvicultural approaches in Norwegian forests, with a strong emphasis on biodiversity, carbon policies, and sustainable forest management.

• Education: PhD in progress (2022–present) at INN; Master in Forestry (2012–2014) from University of Missouri; Forest Engineer (2003–2010) from National University of Misiones.

His recent publications analyze deforestation trends in the Paraná Atlantic Forest, seed conservation strategies, and policy impacts on ecosystem services. His work bridges ecological science with policy frameworks, particularly in human-dominated landscapes and international forest governance.

• Scientific Awards: ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility Fellowship (2017), LACEEP Fellowship (2016), multiple Fulbright grants (2012–2014).

He has contributed to international collaborations, including the UN-REDD Programme (2018–2019) and FAO representation (2019–2021), and currently works on the TaigaClimate project at INN.
