Luca Mondin

Luca Mondin is a Full Professor of Latin Language and Literature at the Department of Humanities, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, since December 2019. He previously served as Associate Professor (2001-2019) and Assistant Professor (1994-2001) at the same university. His editorial roles include co-director of the journal Incontri di Filologia Classica and membership on the editorial boards of LEXIS and Studi di filologia classica.

His research focuses on Latin literature from archaic to late antique periods, classical philology, textual criticism, and the digitization of Latin poetry. Key research lines include: intertextuality in classical literature, epistolography of the humanistic and Renaissance ages, transmission of knowledge in Latin culture, and computational metrics of Latin verse.

Recent publications analyze late antique authors like Ausonius, Claudian, and Martial, exploring their literary adaptations and reception. He leads the PRIN 2022 project LaLaLexiT. Late Latin Lexicon in Transition (MUR-funded) and has participated in multiple PRIN projects since 1999.

He has taught courses on Latin literature, history of the Latin language, and specialized modules across master's and bachelor's programs in Ancient Sciences, Letters, and History over the past five academic years.
