Luca Di Persio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Verona, specializing in Probability and Mathematical Statistics (MATH-03/B). He serves as a member of the PhD School in Mathematics, jointly organized by the Mathematics Department of the University of Trento and the Computer Science Department of the University of Verona, and coordinates the European mobility program Erasmus+ with universities in Bielefeld, Munich, Oslo, and Wuppertal.
His research spans multiple areas at the intersection of stochastic analysis, artificial intelligence, and mathematical finance. Key research interests include:
- Stochastic Partial Differential Equations (SPDEs) in finite and infinite dimensions
- Mean Field Games and interacting particle systems
- Time series analysis and applications to mathematical finance
- Neural networks and AI applications in finance and energy markets
- Stochastic data-driven forecasting methods
Professor Di Persio leads or participates in numerous research projects, including "NNs-based approaches pro-integration of MFGs and SPDEs techniques for industrial applications" (starting 2025), "Securing Decentralized Finance and Remote Healthcare Systems - SHIELD," and "Study of the integration of stochastic analysis tools with Machine Learning models in Large Language Models." His work bridges theoretical mathematics with practical applications in finance, energy markets, and AI systems.
As an educator, he is in charge of the didactic path in Mathematical Finance for the Master's degree in Mathematics and teaches courses including Probability, Stochastic Systems, Stochastic Differential Equations, and Mathematical Finance. He has been consistently teaching these subjects since at least 2011 across multiple academic programs including the Master's degree in Mathematics and Master's degree in Data Science.
Professor Di Persio holds several institutional roles including Chair of the Quality Assurance Commission for the Master's degree in Data Science, member of the Computer Science Teaching Committee, member of the Mathematics and Data Science Teaching Committee, and member of the PhD School Board.
