Luca Banszerus is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Physics, specializing in Nanomagnetism and Magnonics. His research focuses on graphene-based quantum systems, spin-orbit coupling, and 2D materials.
- Education: PhD candidate at RWTH Aachen (2016-2022), Undergraduate at RWTH Aachen (2012-2016)
Research interests include:
- Graphene Quantum Dots and their spin-valley dynamics
- Ballistic transport in 2D heterostructures
- Magnonic and nanomagnetic applications in quantum devices
His work highlights trends in quantum information, condensed matter physics, and nanotechnology. Prizes include the Borchers Plakette and Friedrich-Wilhelm Award (2023), and a Fulbright Fellowship (2017). He has been active in public engagement, including a 2025 Kinderuni Wien presentation.
