Lu Wei

LU Wei is a Tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he has been since 2013. He previously held positions at The University of Hong Kong (2009–2011) and California Institute of Technology (2004–2005).

His research focuses on organometallic complexes with phosphorescent properties, emphasizing metallophilic interactions, photoactivated emission, and self-assembled nanomaterials. His work spans supramolecular chemistry, photophysics, and optoelectronic applications.

Recent publications highlight tunable phosphorescent materials for 3D displays, photochemically deoxygenated systems for photon upconversion, and theoretical studies on intermolecular forces. His 15 most recent articles explore metal-organic frameworks, excited-state dynamics, and self-assembly mechanisms in platinum and gold complexes.

He has authored over 60 high-impact publications, with 11 papers exceeding 100 citations and an H-index of 33. His research group at SUSTech focuses on metal-organic light-emitting materials, supported by National Natural Science Foundation and Shenzhen grants. He mentors students in synthetic chemistry and photochemical applications.
