Lu Yao

Dr. Lu Yao is an Assistant Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Institute of Microelectronics, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen, China. She holds a Distinguished Appointment from the Shenzhen Municipal Government and is part of the 'Boxin Plan.' Her research spans novel energy conversion technologies, self-powered wearable electronics, and thermoelectric cooling for chip thermal management.

• 2016-2019: Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Tongji University
• 2006-2012: M.Sc. in Physics, Jinan University

Research Interests:
• Preparation of flexible functional materials (fibers, films, gels) via chemical/physical methods.
• Design of self-powered wearable electronic systems and energy conversion devices.
• Simulation and micro/nano fabrication of thermoelectric cooling devices for chip thermal management.

Selected Publications show expertise in flexible thermoelectrics, polymer nanocomposites, and semiconductor engineering. Key journals include Nature Nanotechnology, Energy & Environmental Science, and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, with ESI highly cited/hot papers.
