Luísa Barros is a Full Professor at the School of Psychology, University of Lisbon, and a member of the Scientific Council. Her academic career spans over three decades, focusing on pediatric psychology, child health, and parenting interventions. She has held significant leadership roles, including President of the Psychology School Assembly, Director of the CICPSI Research Unit, and Scientific Coordinator of the ProAdapt group.
- Research Focus: Parental influence on child health promotion, adaptation to chronic conditions, and digital health interventions for pediatric populations.
- Teaching: Master’s and PhD psychology programs, cross-disciplinary health education (Dental Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences).
Her projects include Pain Less – OI youngsters take control (digital pain management for osteogenesis imperfecta patients), Food Parenting (web-based dietary interventions), and studies on parental self-regulation. Recent publications highlight her work in preschool nutrition, family empowerment programs, and pandemic-related mental health impacts.
