Guillermo Perez Algorta is a Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine (FHM), specializing in Health Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Palermo University (Argentina) and completed a Post-Doctoral Researcher position at Ohio State University's Child Mood Disorders Lab (2012-2014). Previously, he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2011-2018). His research focuses on bipolar spectrum disorders, circadian dysregulation's impact on sleep/mood, and aggressive/risk-taking behaviors. Notable contributions include initiating Lancaster's circadian rhythm research stream and receiving the Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA, 2021) and the 2024 Most AT-Bats Award. He has led projects such as the Namaste Care intervention for dementia patients and studies on dietary impacts on student mental health.
