Professor Loukas Mistelis, the Clive M Schmitthoff Professor of Transnational Commercial Law and Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London, is a globally recognized authority in international dispute resolution and investment treaty law. He directs the School of International Arbitration at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS).

Research interests span the internationalization of commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, harmonization of arbitration procedures, international sales law, secured transactions, and comparative law with a focus on legal transplants. His work bridges theoretical and practical dimensions of foreign investment protection, energy disputes, and corporate dispute resolution strategies.
Scientific awards and honors include the

- Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) since 2016
- Listed in Who’s Who in Commercial Arbitration since 2007
- Member of the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators
Public Engagement includes leadership roles in the School of International Arbitration, the Energy and Natural Resources Law Institute, and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Competition Law and Policy. He co-edits the World Arbitration Reporter and the Oxford International Arbitration Series.
