Loukas Glyptis

Prof. Loukas Glyptis is the Head of the School of Business & Management at UCLan Cyprus and holds the rank of Professor of Strategic Management & Organisational Performance. He has been with UCLan Cyprus since 2012, progressing from Assistant Professor (2016), Associate Professor (2018), to his current role (2022). His academic journey includes a PhD from the University of Birmingham (2010), an MSc in Accounting & Finance (2005), and a BSc in Business Administration (2003).

Research interests focus on strategic management accounting, organisational performance, and family business dynamics. Notable themes include leadership control mechanisms, sustainability in management practices, and inter-organisational relationships. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in family businesses and public sector value provision.

Publications span high-impact journals like Journal of Business Research and Technological Forecasting & Social Change, reflecting expertise in strategic management and organisational dynamics. Awards include the 2nd Best Paper Award at the 2016 EIASM Workshop and academic scholarships from prestigious institutions.

Administrative roles include leading UCLan Cyprus’ School of Business & Management, chairing committees on student experience and quality assurance, and managing Erasmus+ collaborations. Teaching leadership includes course accreditation for ACCA, ICAEW, and CIMA programs.
