Demetris Koutsoftas

Demetris Koutsoftas is a Special Teaching Staff member in Accounting and Audit at the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) since 2015, affiliated with the School of Business & Management. He holds a BA in Economics from Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK (2005) and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW). His professional experience includes roles as an Assistant Manager at Deloitte (2005–2011) and as a Practitioner in Accounting/Audit (2011–present).

Research Interests:

• Audit methodology
• Tax jurisdictions in Europe, with specialization in Cyprus and UK contexts
• Movement of capital markets

Teaching Responsibilities: Course Leader/Tutor for modules such as AC3300 Auditing Theory and Practice, AC3101 Cyprus Taxation, and AC2600 Taxation Theory and Practice. Additional modules include Auditing Theory and Practice, Cyprus Taxation, and Taxation Theory and Practice.

Professional Memberships: Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
