Louise Wang, MD, MSCE, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale School of Medicine and a Staff Gastroenterologist at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Her research focuses on improving early detection of pancreatic cancer through risk-prediction models leveraging electronic health records (EHR) and genetic data, particularly within the VA Million Veteran Program. She is funded by the VA and NIH.
Education: MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, BA from the University of Pennsylvania, MSCE from the University of Pennsylvania. Residency and fellowship training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Research Interests: Pancreatic cancer early detection, polygenic risk scores, health disparities, and gastrointestinal cancers. Key projects include developing clinical tools to identify high-risk individuals and assessing cost-effectiveness of screening strategies.
Achievements: Frank Brooks Award for Research, AGA Student Abstract of the Year, and collaborations with interdisciplinary teams at Yale and VA. Her work bridges bioinformatics, genetics, and clinical oncology.
