معرفی
Dr. Louise Walport is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London and a Group Leader at the Francis Crick Institute. Her research focuses on developing chemical tools based on cyclic peptides to study protein interactions in epigenetics and disease-related enzymes like protein arginine deiminases (PADI), with applications in drug discovery for conditions such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and cancer.
- Education:
- MChem in Chemistry from Magdalen College, University of Oxford (2009)
- DPhil in Chemical Biology from the University of Oxford (2014), supervised by Prof. Chris Schofield and Prof. Christina Redfield
Louise's work leverages the RaPID system to screen vast peptide libraries (>1013 molecules) for high-affinity binders, enabling targeted disruption of protein interactions. Her research spans Structural Biology, Chemical Biology, and Proteomics, with a focus on enzymology and epigenetic regulation.
Recent publications highlight her expertise in cyclic peptide design for PADI4 inhibition and BET bromodomain targeting. Awards include the Global Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (2015). She collaborates across disciplines, utilizing facilities like Flow Cytometry and Electron Microscopy at the Crick Institute.
