Professor Louise Robson is a faculty member at the School of Biosciences, University of Sheffield, holding the title of Professor of Digital Innovation in Learning and Teaching. She served as Faculty Director of Education (2022-present), Assistant Faculty Director of Learning and Teaching (2021-2022), and Senior University Teacher and Director of Learning and Teaching (2019-2020).

Research Interests include epithelial physiology, focusing on ion channels (CFTR, TRP, K+ channels) in pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis, kidney function, and airway/gut epithelia. Collaborations span the Medical School, University of Dundee, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital for CF diagnostics and therapeutic research.
Publications highlight two major themes: digital innovation in education (online pivots, lecture capture, post-pandemic teaching) and physiological studies on ion channel regulation in renal, airway, and gut epithelia.
Scientific Awards include the Otto Hutter Teaching Prize (2018), Senate Award for Sustained Excellence in Learning and Teaching (2009), and Physiological Society Biller Prize (2002).
