Louise Occomore-Kent is a Senior Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy at City St George's, University of London, where she teaches pre- and post-registration SLT students in the Department of Language and Communication Science (LCS), under the School of Health and Psychological Sciences (SHPS). She also serves as Co-Lead on the ALPS-HN Programme Development Grant hosted at Royal Marsden Hospital and funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Her research focuses on novel models of SLT service delivery in head and neck cancer, particularly for patients with voice disorders and dysphagia. Recent work explores SLT-led clinics for low-risk suspected HNC referrals, aiming to improve patient outcomes, reduce waiting times, and enhance healthcare efficiency. This aligns with her clinical expertise in head and neck anatomy/physiology, tracheostomy/laryngectomy, and ENT/voice disorders.
Her five most recent articles (2007–2025) highlight trends in SLT-led service models, urgent ENT pathway integration, and innovative clinical protocols for dysphagia and voice disorders. These studies emphasize patient pathway efficiency, clinical collaboration, and healthcare cost-effectiveness.

Louise supervises pre- and post-registration student research projects in both clinical SLT and SLT education. She is actively involved in professional networks, including the Voice and Head and Neck RCSLT Clinical Excellence Networks, and previously served as committee secretary for the Adult Acquired Dysphagia Clinical Excellence Network (2010–2014). She also contributes to the NIHR ENT SLT Subgroup (STENT).
