Louise Obara is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Swansea University's School of Management, part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She joined in 2022 after five years at De Montfort University, where she developed academic modules and managed the BA (Hons) Business and Management program. Previously, she worked in the public sector as a social worker supporting refugees/asylum seekers and as a Welsh Government research officer managing stakeholder engagement programs.

Research Interests: Louise’s research examines how multinational companies (MNCs) manage ethics, CSR, and human rights. She analyzes governance systems, leadership roles, and external influences like regulations and cultural norms. Her work emphasizes holistic approaches to corporate responsibility and international frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles and Global Reporting Initiative. She also explores CSR pedagogy and ethical investment principles.
Recent Work Trends: Her publications focus on human rights reporting, CSR integration, and cross-cultural research challenges. Recent work includes exploring UN SDG alignment in academia and corporate human rights due diligence.
Current Supervision: Co-supervising a PhD on Sustainable Supply Chains in Saudi Arabia with Prof Nicholas Rich.
