Louise Marryat is a Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research) in Health Sciences, specializing in child development, maternal mental health, and public health policy. She holds honorary roles as a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and a Research Associate at the University of Glasgow, alongside being a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Key projects include the CHILDS study (assessing long-term child development in Scotland) and international opioid exposure research funded by the Medical Research Council.
Recent publications emphasize pandemic-related child development, maternal vaccination during pregnancy, and chronic pain management linked to adverse childhood experiences. She was nominated for the Dundee Difference Awards (Outstanding Team of the Year) for her work on co-producing public engagement tools for data research.
Louise actively engages in interdisciplinary collaborations, including the Mother, Infant, and Child Research Unit (MIRU) Showcase and public outreach initiatives like the 'My Data' project. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly education and health equity.
