Louise Laverty

Louise Laverty is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Division of Informatics, Imaging & Data Sciences, currently serving as a Research Associate in the Centre for Health Informatics. Her work focuses on the implementation of digital health technologies within the NHS and the distributional effects of public policy on health. She holds a Doctor of Social Science from the University of Liverpool (2016) and a Master of Research from the University of Manchester (2008).

Her research expertise includes medical sociology, qualitative methods (participant-observation, interviews, focus groups), and policy analysis. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and social welfare through studies on health inequalities and digital health adoption in marginalized communities.

Key collaborations involve institutions like Policy@Manchester and Christabel Pankhurst Institute, with recent projects examining pandemic health data transparency and link worker interventions for healthcare access.
