Her research interests center on evaluating youth work practices, commensality (food-sharing rituals in youth work), and social justice issues affecting community labor. She emphasizes the spatial dimensions of youth work as 'third places' fostering belonging and critical democracy for young people in oppressive contexts.
Recent articles highlight tensions between youth work’s transformative nature and neoliberal evaluation systems. They explore themes like the role of physical spaces in youth work’s efficacy and the symbolic value of food-sharing beyond mere sustenance.
