Louisa Horner

Louisa Horner is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield in the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise. She serves as Course Leader for multiple sports-related degree programs and is a member of the Centre for Applied Research in Health.

• Education: PhD in Sport Science, BSc in Sports Science, MA in Child Welfare and Safeguarding

Her research focuses on sport and physical activity interventions for marginalized populations, including children in alternative education settings and those with disabilities. She has contributed to 3 peer-reviewed publications and 6 professional activities since 2018.

Her publications address: (1) physical activity effectiveness in alternative provisions (2024), (2) HRQoL improvements in pupil referral units (2019), and (3) exercise interventions for youth with harmful sexual behavior (2018). These works align with UN SDG3 (Good Health) and SDG4 (Quality Education).
