Louis Williams

Louis Williams is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, where he has served for 44 years. His work bridges drug discovery from natural sources and innovative pharmacy education.

• Education: Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Medicinal Chemistry-Biochemistry from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

Research Interests focus on isolating bioactive compounds from medicinal plants for anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-cancer applications, alongside pioneering case-based teaching methodologies in Medicinal Chemistry. His publications highlight studies of plants from Ghana and Zaire for therapeutic potential.
