Louis Dubeau, MD, PhD is a Professor of Pathology at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, where he directs the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. A native of Canada, he joined USC as a post-doctoral fellow and has since established himself as a leading researcher in ovarian cancer biology and molecular diagnostics.
Dr. Dubeau's research spans ovarian cancer genetics, BRCA mutation mechanisms, endoplasmic reticulum stress pathways, and environmental health impacts such as air pollution effects. His work integrates molecular pathology with translational approaches to understand carcinogenesis and develop novel therapeutic strategies. Recent publications reveal a strong focus on viral pathogenesis (particularly SARS-CoV-2), epigenetic modifications in cancer prevention, and stress response proteins in tumor development.
His laboratory has secured over $14 million in research funding, with publications spanning oncology, virology, and environmental health. Dr. Dubeau actively contributes to medical education through lectures across multiple continents and has mentored more than 50 students through PhD advisory roles and graduate training programs.
As Director of the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, he oversees advanced diagnostic testing at both Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, bridging clinical practice with cutting-edge research in cancer genomics and molecular pathology.
