Louis Chaptini, MD, is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Yale School of Medicine, working part-time as a GI hospitalist specializing in treating hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal (GI) conditions such as GI bleeding, abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver diseases. His research focuses on colon cancer screening, functional bowel diseases, and endoscopy techniques. Dr. Chaptini graduated from St. Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon (1999), completed residency and fellowship at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (2002–2005), and joined Yale in 2012. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and received the Howard M. Spiro, MD, Digestive Diseases Fellowship Teaching Award in 2015 for his dedication to mentoring trainees.
