Dr. Louis Cabri is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor, Canada. He holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA from the University of Calgary, and a BA from Carleton University. His research focuses on modern, postmodern, and contemporary poetry, literary theory, and creative writing. Cabri’s work interrogates poetic formal innovation, the intersections of poetry with theory and visual arts, and transnational poetic movements, particularly those in the US and Canada. He has authored poetry collections like The Mood Embosser and edited critical volumes such as The False Laws of Narrative (Fred Wah’s selected poems). His scholarly contributions include essays on poets like Frank O’Hara, Jackson Mac Low, and bp Nichol, alongside projects like the PhillyTalks anthology series. Cabri has organized international events, such as the 2011 Alphabet Symposium on Ron Silliman’s long poem.
