Loucas Louca

Loucas Louca is an Associate Professor of Science Education at the Department of Education Sciences, European University Cyprus. His academic career includes roles as Chair of the Department (2014–2016), Director of the Research and Learning Laboratory (2008–2016), and Director of the Inquiry in Science and Math Education Research Group (2016–present). He holds a PhD in Science Education from the University of Maryland (2004), alongside M.Sc., M.Ed., and B.A. degrees in related fields.

Projects & Awards: Led or collaborated in over 10 international grants including ERASMUS+ initiatives like STEMitUP (2017–2021) and STING (2014–2017). Recognized with awards such as the AERA International Travel Award (2011) and the Jacob K. Goldhaber Grant (2003).

Grants & Labs: Spearheaded research labs focused on science education and inquiry-based learning. Current projects emphasize gender equity in STEM education and AI integration in university curricula. His work bridges theory and practice through partnerships with schools and international organizations.
