معرفی
Lou Kondic is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). His research focuses on fluid dynamics, granular materials, phase separation, and computational modeling. He actively collaborates on projects funded by the National Science Foundation and NASA, addressing challenges in membrane filtration, colloidal systems, and microgravity materials science.
Key research interests include thin film instabilities, force networks in granular systems, and multiphase flow dynamics. His work on phase separation in binary fluids and acoustowetting techniques for oil recovery demonstrates interdisciplinary innovation. Kondic has pioneered network analysis methods to study granular material behavior under compression and shear, contributing to our understanding of force transmission and failure mechanisms.
He leads the Conference on Frontiers in Applied and Computational Mathematics and co-founded NJIT's Grace Hopper AI Research Institute. Notable awards include the American Physical Society Fellow distinction (2023). Kondic's research spans over 160 publications and 20 federal grants, with active projects in granular rheology, membrane technology, and space materials science. His collaborative efforts bridge applied mathematics, engineering, and physics to solve complex real-world problems.
