Lotta Leinamo

Lotta Leinamo is a Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Applied Language Studies within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä, where she actively contributes to the IMPACT project examining language proficiency mandates and high-stakes testing impacts on adult immigrants in Finland.

Her research centers on applied linguistics with emphasis on language policy implementation and its societal consequences for immigrant populations. She investigates how mandated language testing frameworks intersect with immigration policies, focusing on socioeconomic integration challenges and identity formation among adult language learners in Finnish society. This work bridges sociolinguistics and policy studies through empirical analysis of real-world testing scenarios.

As a core member of the IMPACT project team, she conducts field research involving immigrant communities while collaborating with language educators and policy stakeholders to develop evidence-based recommendations for language assessment practices in multicultural contexts.
