Lorraine Taylor is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Tourism and Hospitality Management department at the Katz School of Business, Fort Lewis College. She joined the institution in 2013 after a career in hospitality management with organizations like Walt Disney World, Marriott International, and Conde Nast Johansens.
- Education: Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (Clemson University, 2014), M.S. in Advertising (University of Illinois, 2003), B.S. in Advertising (University of Illinois, 2002)
Her research explores tourist decision-making, nich tourism, and sustainable travel, with recent work addressing marijuana tourism and vacation guilt. Publications highlight applications of mobile technologies in destination branding and the impact of mindfulness practices on travel choices.
Dr. Taylor actively contributes to academic and community initiatives, including serving as a scholarship reviewer for Tourism Cares and on the executive committee of Local First, a La Plata County nonprofit.
