Lorraine P Morris serves as Associate Director of the Business School at the University of Wolverhampton since March 2023, within the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences (FABSS). With twenty-one years of teaching experience, she previously held the position of Head of Department for Finance, Accounting and Economics. Her leadership has contributed to the University of Wolverhampton being ranked in the top 6 best UK universities for Business and Management studies by The Guardian for 2024.
Morris specializes in finance and accounting education, with particular expertise in management accounting and financial reporting. Her research interests bridge academic theory with real-world business applications, focusing on preparing students for professional success through curriculum development that integrates current industry practices. She has implemented strategies that significantly increased student satisfaction and engagement metrics across the Business School.
As an External Examiner, Morris serves as Chief Examiner for the University of London – EMFSS in Management Accounting (recommended by the London School of Economics and Political Science) and as External Examiner/Team Leader for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Paper FR Financial Reporting.
Morris is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) since 1993 and holds the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her professional journey began in industry where she progressed from trainee factory accountant to Finance Director before transitioning to academia.
With a strong background in both corporate finance and education, Morris oversees four departments at the Business School, managing student success initiatives, program growth, and school development. She partners with industry leaders to ensure graduates are career-ready and maintains a collaborative leadership approach focused on developing school talent and creating a forward-thinking educational environment.
