Lorie Speer

Lorie Speer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Eastern Washington University (EWU). She specializes in fostering student self-assessment, effective feedback mechanisms, and enhancing self-efficacy through critical thinking and peer-to-peer mentoring. Her expertise also includes faculty development and the integration of yoga into educational practices.

Dr. Speer holds credentials as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene (MSDH). She is affiliated with the Health Science Building on campus and focuses on innovative teaching methodologies to improve student learning outcomes.
