Lori Şen is Assistant Professor of Vocal Pedagogy at Shenandoah Conservatory. A Turkish-American mezzo-soprano and Fulbright alumna, her multidisciplinary background bridges physics and vocal performance.
Research Contributions: She is a leading scholar of Sephardic art song, creating the first catalog of this repertoire and developing the inaugural Ladino diction guide for singers. Her voice science research examines vocal physiology and acoustics, presented at conferences including The Voice Foundation Symposium.
Performance Career: As versatile performer, she has appeared in operatic roles, jazz ensembles, and contemporary premieres, collaborating with composers including William Kenlon and Brian Field. She currently serves on the board of the International Florence Price Festival.
