Lori Landay is a Professor of Cultural Studies at Berklee College of Music's Professional Education Division. As an interdisciplinary scholar and new media artist, she investigates the creation of visual meaning in 20th- and 21st-century culture through publications, creative projects, and digital storytelling.

Landay's research spans television history, virtual worlds, film studies, and gender studies. Her work explores topics like the Lucy phenomenon in postwar America, machinima in Second Life, and mythic structures in transmedia storytelling. Recent Google Scholar articles highlight her focus on interactivity, analog film technology, and digital commodification.

She has consulted on the PBS documentary Finding Lucy and served as Information Technology Officer for the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (2002–2005). Landay also teaches online courses in digital storytelling, game design, and film/TV language.
