Dr. Lori Hoepner is Assistant Professor in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at SUNY Downstate's School of Public Health. Her research examines environmental exposures (BPA, PAHs, phthalates, pesticides, COVID-19) during critical developmental windows and their impacts on childhood asthma, neurodevelopment, and obesity, with particular attention to health disparities across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups.
Her investigations integrate molecular epidemiology and community-based approaches to understand how environmental factors interact with social determinants of health. Current projects examine prenatal chemical exposures, developmental origins of chronic disease, and the application of machine learning to complex environmental health datasets.
