Loreta Kondili

Prof. Loreta Kondili is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Tirana and a Clinical Researcher at the Center for Global Health, Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Rome). She specializes in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, with a Ph.D. earned in 2015. Her expertise spans viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, and Health Technology Assessment, supported by training at Sapienza University (Rome), Policlinico Umberto I (Rome), and Queen Elisabeth Hospital (UK).

• Education: Trained at Sapienza University, Policlinico Umberto I, and Queen Elisabeth Hospital.
• Ph.D. in 2015.
• 2nd-level Master’s in Evaluation and Management of Health Technologies (Catholic University of Rome).

Her research focuses on the epidemiology, clinical management, and therapy of chronic viral liver diseases. She leads the Italian Platform for Viral Hepatitis Therapies (PITER) and has contributed to defining WHO-driven HCV elimination strategies in Italy. She collaborates with institutions like Tor Vergata University and the Center for Disease Analysis (USA).

Prof. Kondili serves as an expert for the Italian Ministry of Health, AIFA, and the EMA. She is affiliated with the Italian and European Associations for the Study of the Liver.

She has co-authored over 100 publications and actively participates in national/international conferences.
