Lorenzo Grassi

Lorenzo Grassi is an Associate Senior Lecturer at the Division of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (LTH), Lund University. He contributes to the eSSENCE e-Science Collaboration and is affiliated with the Engineering Health and Proactive Ageing profile areas.

His research focuses on subject-specific numerical modeling of the hip to enhance diagnosis and treatment of hip-related diseases. Key areas include combining DXA imaging with statistical shape modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) for osteoporosis fracture risk assessment and extending these methods to pediatric hip pathology prediction since 2023.

Publication trends highlight expertise in finite element analysis, hip fracture prediction, and biomechanical modeling across Medical Imaging, Biomechanics, and Biomaterials.
