Lorena GOBBO

Lorena Gobbo is a Researcher at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. She holds roles as Laboratory Supervisor and Emergency Team Officer within the Research Institute for Green and Blue Growth. Her research focuses on environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, and phytoremediation, particularly examining bioaccumulation processes in bivalve molluscs and heavy metal contamination in marine and lagoon ecosystems. She leads projects like the Phy.Si.Co. initiative for arsenic-contaminated site remediation and has contributed to studies on metal partitioning in Venice Lagoon sediments.

Her work integrates biochemical, physiological, and molecular markers to assess seafood safety and traceability, with a focus on Manila clams. She has collaborated on projects funded by MIUR and the Veneto Region, investigating responses to contaminants in model plants and developing electrochemical sensors for water monitoring.
