Loren Laine is a Professor of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and Chief of the Section of Digestive Diseases within the Department of Medicine. He also serves as Medical Chief of Digestive Health at Yale New Haven Health.

Dr. Laine's research focuses on gastrointestinal hemorrhage, peptic ulcer disease, Helicobacter pylori, and artificial intelligence applications in gastroenterology. He has pioneered the use of large language models (LLMs) for GI bleeding detection and medical education.
Recent publications highlight his leadership in clinical guideline development and comparative effectiveness research for GI bleeding management, with specific emphasis on endoscopic therapies and potassium-competitive acid blockers. His work integrates cutting-edge computational methods with traditional clinical practice.
